Fishing Twitch
Twitch is a line of wood lures individually crafted for top water bass fishing. Truly handmade from a variety of low density wood species, Twitch lures come in a range of sizes and weights. Every Twitch is precisely weighed and measured for volume. The measurement results and density value are provided for each lure. All are about 4 inches long.
Lower density Twitch lures pivot side-to-side quickly and easily with slight rod tip movements, while higher density Twitch lures swing side-to-side with bigger twitches of the rod tip. The higher-density lures are capable of wider “walking” action with rhythmic rod tip movements. The lower-density lures will move side-to-side faster, but do not swing out as wide.
All Twitch lures are weighted from the base of the tail to the bottom of the belly. This weight location keeps Twitch upright and moves the lure center-of-gravity a little forward (compared to tail weight location).
Twitch lures are built with high-floating wood bodies, slightly forward pivot-point and shallow stance (only the end of the tail is completely submerged). This design allows the fisherman or fisherwoman to work the lure side-to-side with little effort.
These lures cast well due to rear weight and aerodynamic shape. With buoyant wood bodies and no rattles, Twitch can be feathered down to a stealthy landing. Twitch hits the water and pops up in a way that bass love. Twitch will also glide smoothly on top of the water in straight retrieve.
This lure can be used to hit more spots and cover more water because Twitch is capable of quickly skiing back in for another cast. Some bass seem to take the fast moving bait as a challenge. Ornery bass wait until the lure is nearly in, striking after you have looked up for the next cast. Top water fishing with Twitch can be too exciting at times.
Durability
Twitch fishing lures will last for many years. Each lure is shaped from a solid piece of wood with pristine wood grain. Wood bodies are protected with 13 layers of high quality coatings and paints, combined with tenacious adhesion. The two-part epoxy base coats and marine top coats have complementary characteristics that increase the overall toughness.
The finish on Twitch does not crack, chip, peel or yellow. Scratches including hook rash and teeth marks wont get through. With the exception of a chomp from a large fish with needle teeth (a long-nose gar comes to mind), the finish on Twitch will keep the wood body completely dry.
Line Tie Tip
Twitch can move more freely side-to-side with fishing line tied to a snap or split ring or by using a loop knot. When the bass are responding to pivoting or walking action, this is the way to go.
Change the action with direct tie cinch-down knot. The constant connection improves control of gliding in fast retrieve and shortens reaction time to rod twitch combinations. Just shaking the rod tip during retrieve will create flighty action. Try with nimble line for more side-to-side movement.
